calling all #malebreastcancer survivors for a research study on Improving Brain Function After Breast Cancer

A study on improving brain function in breast cancer survivors who have had chemotherapy is now accepting men!

This study is evaluating how a meditation intervention improves cognitive functioning after breast cancer treatment.

If you are eligible, you will schedule a time to complete a survey and do cognitive testing (about 30 minutes via video conference). You will then begin the daily 12-minute intervention at home on your own time/schedule for 8-16 weeks total. 8 weeks after you start the daily program you will repeat the survey and cognitive testing (about 30 minutes via video conference). After the 16 weeks, you will do a final survey, cognitive testing (about 30 minutes via video conference) and exit interview.

You will receive a $50 Amazon gift card after each data collection appointment (up to $150 total).

Here is the info on how to get connected:

I want to thank Dr. Henneghan, the Principal Investigator of the study.

As I often do when I see a new breast cancer clinical trial on www.clinicaltrials.gov, I check on whether it accepts men.

If it doesn’t include men, but it could from a biological or medical point of view, I email the leader and politely ask whether men might be included. Dr. Henneghan very graciously responded, engaged and worked to get additional funding to be able to enroll men. I want to thank her for her willingness to do this!

So now the ball is in our court, men!! If you are a man who fits the enrollment criteria, I strongly encourage you to reach out and find out if the study is a good fit. This is a real chance to participate in clinical research and have men with breast cancer included.
